Company Profile (obtained from Google Finance): The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) is a manufacturer and supplier of products used primarily as raw materials in the manufacture of customer products and services across the world. The Company operates through five segments: Agricultural Sciences, which consists of Crop Protection and Seeds businesses; Consumer Solutions, which consists of Consumer Care, Dow Automotive Systems and Dow Electronic Materials businesses; Infrastructure Solutions, which consists of a portfolio of businesses utilizing technology to deliver products, such as architectural and industrial coating applications, adhesives, microbial protection for the oil and gas industry, and water technologies; Performance Materials & Chemicals, which consist of Chlor-Alkali and Vinyl, Industrial Solutions and Polyurethanes businesses, and Performance Plastics, which includes Dow Elastomers, Dow Electrical and Telecommunications, Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, Energy and Hydrocarbons businesses.

Dow Chemical Co qualifies for both the Defensive Investor and the Enterprising Investor. The Defensive Investor is only initially concerned with the low current ratio. The Enterprising Investor is only concerned with the level of debt relative to the net current assets. As a result, all value investors following the ModernGraham approach should feel comfortable proceeding with the analysis.

As for a valuation, the company appears to be Undervalued after growing its EPSmg (normalized earnings) from $1.21 in 2012 to an estimated $3.85 for 2016.
