The Company operates through three segments: Retail and Business Banking, Wealth Management and Capital Markets. The Company’s Retail and Business Banking segment provides personal and business clients across Canada with financial advice, products and services in its banking centers or through remote channels, such as mobile advisors, telephone, online or mobile banking. The Company’s Wealth Management segment provides advice and investment solutions. The Company’s Capital Markets segment provides integrated credit and global markets products, investment banking advisory services and research to corporate, government and institutional clients around the world.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is suitable for the Enterprising Investor but not the more conservative Defensive Investor. The Defensive Investor is concerned with the insufficient earnings stability over the last ten years. The Enterprising Investor has no initial concerns. As a result, all Enterprising Investors following the ModernGraham approach should feel comfortable proceeding with the analysis.

As for a valuation, the company appears to be Undervalued after growing its EPSmg (normalized earnings) from $7.07 in 2013 to an estimated $9.62 for 2017.
