Company Profile (excerpt from Reuters): Crew Energy Inc is a Canada-based oil and gas exploration, development and production company. It is a growth-oriented oil and natural gas producer. The Company’s activities are primarily focused in the Montney Resource situated in northeast British Columbia. Its Montney Resource is complemented by its Lloydminster heavy oil property in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Its Montney area assets include: Septimus/West Septimus, Tower, Groundbirch, Attachie and Portage, which are situated south and west of Fort Staint John, British Columbia. Its operations include liquid rich natural gas and light oil production from the siltstone Montney formation. The Montney property is developed with long-reach horizontal wells. Production from Lloydminster property is comprised of a range of 12 to 14 degrees American Petroleum Institute (API) heavy oil, which is conventionally produced.

The Defensive Investor is concerned with the small size, low current ratio, insufficient earnings stability or growth over the last ten years, and the poor dividend history, and the high PEmg and PB ratios. The Enterprising Investor has concerns regarding the level of debt relative to the current assets, and the lack of earnings stability over the last five years, and the lack of dividends. As a result, all value investors following the ModernGraham approach should explore other opportunities at this time or proceed cautiously with a speculative attitude.
